Owner Kathleen Stark left her outside technical sales career of over 30 years in the summer of 2017. Searching for a meaningful career change, she stumbled upon a marketing business model that would be perfect for helping small local businesses drive customer traffic in the off-season. Sad to have witnessed so many of these small businesses unable to survive, she launched Stark Email Marketing in 2018.
Kathy’s many years in sales were spent calling on customers for big corporations whose focus was on short-term profits over long-term relationships. This experience from the customer’s end gives her a unique perspective on what makes for a successful marketing approach.
The result is that Stark Email Marketing is a strong proponent of customer-first marketing, which differs from customer-centric marketing in that the customer’s needs come before the short-term financial benefit of the marketing organization. Putting customers first helps deliver a better product, a more relevant strategy, and ultimately builds long-term loyalty.
